Lesson 9, Part 2: Library Digital Offerings – OverDrive Magazines

Objective: Learn about OverDrive Magazines

Recently, OverDrive expanded its services to offer digital magazines for borrowing through the library.  This service gives SAPL card holders access to over one hundred magazine titles using their OverDrive account and the Barnes & Noble Nook Reader app.  Digital Services created a LibGuide specifically for this service expansion, and that information can be found here: http://guides.mysapl.org/odperiodicals.

There is a video provided by OverDrive which can be accessed through the LibGuide, as well as an archived recording of the instructional webinar conducted by Digital Services to introduce the new service and discuss some of the finer points of using that service.  You’ll also find procedures for creating a Barnes & Noble Nook account, how to check out and read magazines from OverDrive, and a list of frequently asked questions to help you as you familiarize yourself with this new feature.
